Bodilies is a host club in Tokyo, JP that caters to the extremely weathly, powerful, and depraved. A 'host club' (ホストクラブ) is a club where mainly female customers pay for male company, though some places, including Bodilies, cater to male clientele as well. Customers are typically wives of rich men or women working as hostesses in hostess clubs, or the rich men themselves.
A host club is an expensive way to flirt; a night of non-sexual entertainment could cost $500 to $600.
Hosts often range from ages 18 to their mid-20s. Typically they will chose a 'stage name' in order to hide their true identity, lest an over-zealous client stalks the host. Men who become hosts either cannot find a white-collar job, or are enticed by the prospect of high earnings through commission work.
